On Monday we were greeted warmly at the “Christmas to Remember” display in the Fairview Mall to receive a very generous donation from the May Court Club of St. Catharines. These incredible women donated $1000 to Women and Wellness, an annual volunteer organized educational event supporting our Walk-In Counselling services. The May Court Club is Canada’s oldest women’s volunteer association dedicated to active volunteerism in the community. The St. Catharines club has been serving the Niagara Region for 81 years through service and fundraising projects, with a focus on women and children. We are incredibly grateful for their support and contribution [...]
It’s amazing what a community can accomplish when residents and local businesses come together. On Sunday, August 7 the Welland Chiefs Baseball Club hosted their first charity baseball game, Strike Out Stigma, to support local mental health programs and services. Thanks to the dedication of Event Chairs Jennifer Richards and Steve Maurice, the Welland Chiefs baseball team, and their cohort of volunteers, the event was a great success! Nearly 200 people attended, including 30 players between the two Niagara District Baseball Association (NDBA) teams and 20 dedicated, friendly volunteers. While they lost a close game against the St. Catharines Cobras, their fundraising efforts counted as an inspiring win for anyone impacted by mental illness in the Niagara [...]
On June 2, 2016 Peter Everest visited us at our 36 Page Street office in St. Catharines with a generous donation of $1270. In honour of his son's memory, the Paul Everest Memorial Golf Tournament raises awareness about mental health issues and helps raise essential funds that directly support the services we offer in our community. We extend a warm thank you to Peter and all of the tournament's participants for your hard work and dedication, and for helping us build a stronger community through your unrelenting support. Our efforts to serve Niagara are made possible because of the generosity of [...]
