This month we were grateful to receive a generous donation of essential toiletries from Wishlist Niagara in support of our Safe Beds program. Safe Beds provides short term crisis support (3-5 days) in a safe, therapeutic environment as an alternative to hospitalization. During their stay, clients work with staff members to develop short terms goals, coping strategies, and an individualized recovery plan to work towards during and after their stay at Safe Beds. Each client receives a “welcome kit” with essential toiletries and is provided with 3 healthy meals per day. Thank you to all the friends and family of [...]

Talk Today makes noise for Mental Health

2018-03-01T13:23:44+00:00 Categories: Events|

Talk Today is one of the most comprehensive mental health programs for amateur sports in Canada. Its aim is to promote the mental health of young athletes and to spread awareness about the benefits of positive mental health throughout communities across the country. On February 22 and 23, 2018 we celebrated our partnership with the OHL with a game day. We work with the Erie Otters and Niagara IceDogs through the Talk Today program, and both teams won their games against Saginaw Spirit, 4-1! Thank you to everyone who attended and visited us at our table. How Talk Today helps [...]

For decades, mental health and addictions services in communities throughout Ontario have been chronically underfunded compared to other parts of the health system. For the first time in a long time, there’s widespread acceptance about the urgent need for quality mental health and addiction services. The federal government is providing an unprecedented amount of money for mental health and addictions services. And with the provincial election coming this [...]
