The Canadian Mental Health Association Niagara Branch is pleased to announce that it has received an accreditation award through the Qmentum program of Accreditation Canada.
Accreditation Canada is an independent, not-for-profit organization that sets standards for quality and safety care for health organizations in Canada and around the world. Organizations surveyed by Accreditation Canada undergo a rigorous evaluation process including a comprehensive self-assessment, and an on-site survey to evaluate the organization’s performance against Accreditation Canada’s standards of excellence.
In October, 2012, CMHA Niagara achieved compliance in 96% of the more than 300 standards set out by Accreditation Canada, and our quality performance roadmap will continue to ensure continuous quality improvement in the effective and efficient delivery of progressive mental health services.
“This accreditation reflects the highest achievement of health care standards for our organization and helps to ensure that we, as an organization, will continue to evaluate our practices and improve wherever possible. Our staff and volunteers have proven themselves to be committed to these standards in every aspect of their work.
We are proud to be able to continue to offer our quality-driven services to the community of Niagara with this certification of our standards of excellence.”
Laura Garner, President
“Our staff, Board and volunteers have demonstrated that we can meet the same rigorous standards as hospitals, long term care centres and other community agencies across Canada. We stand with the best in delivering quality care to our clients.”
