World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) aims to spread awareness and break the silence about suicide. The World Health Organization estimates that over 800,000 people die by suicide each year -- that's one person every 40 seconds. Up to 25 times as many make a suicide attempt. Suicide creates a tragic ripple effect that impacts people who have been bereaved by suicide or have been close to someone who has made a suicide attempt. CMHA Niagara offers a supportive group for individuals who face both mental health and addictions challenges. This group is drop-in, no need to register or start at a particular date - you're welcome at any session! CD Group runs every Thursday at 36 Page Street from 11am to 1pm in Meeting Room D.
