Mental health issues and addictions affect one in five people worldwide over their lifetime, which is why having access to good quality mental health and addictions services is essential. When it comes to transitioning between child/youth and adult mental health services there is little continuity of care between the two. Since “aging out” of programs leads to gaps in care, the Boards of Directors for CMHA Niagara and Pathstone Mental Health are exploring potential partnership opportunities to develop seamless services for the mental health needs of people of all ages across the region.
“Having access to good quality mental health and addictions services is important for people in communities across Niagara. CMHA Niagara and Pathstone Mental Health are working together to eliminate stigma around mental health challenges, and by further exploring our partnership opportunities, we are hoping to provide timely access to services to Niagara residents of all ages and their families.” – George Kurzawa, Executive Director – CMHA Niagara
